The federal government-formed wage board has finalised the minimal month-to-month wages for the employees of development and wooden trade sector, recommending a rise of over 62 per cent to Tk 16,240.
The present minimal wages for the employees of the sector is Tk 9,982.
The board additionally included a provision of 5.0 per cent annual increment on the essential pay.
It additionally beneficial each day minimal wages of Tk 620 and Tk 680 for the employees in city and rural areas respectively, up from current wages of Tk 375.
The ministry of labour and employment printed a gazette notification on this regard on November 25.
The federal government has additionally requested all involved to submit written objections or recommendations concerning the suggestions of the wage board, if any, inside 14 days.
The ministry shaped the wage board in March this 12 months to evaluate the minimal wages for development and wooden staff. The final evaluate of the wages occurred in 2012.
The wage board proposed month-to-month minimal gross wages of Tk 16,240 and Tk 17,720 for grade six staff in cities and villages respectively.
The gross wages embrace Tk 11,800 as fundamental pay, Tk 3,540 (city space) or Tk 4,720 (rural space) as home lease, Tk 600 as medical allowance and Tk 300 as journey allowance.
The grade 5 staff will get Tk 18,450 as minimal wages, together with Tk 13,500 as fundamental pay.
Gross wages of Tk 19,880, together with Tk 14,600 as fundamental pay, have been beneficial for grade 4 staff.
Grade three staff will get Tk 22,610, together with Tk 16,700 as fundamental pay, grade two staff Tk 24,560, together with Tk 18,200 as fundamental pay, and grade one staff Tk 26,510, together with Tk 19,700 as fundamental pay.
Throughout the grades, the home lease can be 40 per cent of the essential pay for staff in cities and 30 per cent for staff in villages.
