Head of Security and Coaching Simon Potten hopes it’s going to save lives.

He stated working at sea is hard work and bodily demanding.

Over the past 10 years (2011 to 2020), the Marine Accident Investigation Department reported 60 fatalities from UK fishing vessels.
51 of these ended up in water.
25 deaths have been recorded as man overboard incidents.
The best variety of fatalities is on vessels underneath 15 metres.
The Fishing Trade Security Group is now launching its newest House and Dry marketing campaign centered on prevention of man overboard incidents.
It is trying to remind those that work on fishing vessels to take three easy steps:
- Full a written danger evaluation and assessment repeatedly
- Practise Man Overboard drills repeatedly
- All the time put on a Private Flotation Machine (PFD) on deck for if the worst occurs
